An Inconvenient Truth

From Philly.com:

"He is known only as "Baby Boy B," a fetus estimated to be 28 weeks old, found frozen in an altered one-gallon plastic water jug in Dr. Kermit Gosnell's West Philadelphia abortion clinic.

"Gosnell, 72, is charged with seven counts of first-degree murder, seven infants allegedly born alive during abortions and killed by cutting their spinal cords with scissors. If the jury finds him guilty, Gosnell could be sentenced to death."  (Read remainder of the article HERE.)

If you can stomach this article, you may find it ironic, as I did, that at the end, the writer is trying to contrast the horrific practices of this baby killer with a more 'respectable' baby killer, Charles Benjamin, another man who has performed over 40,000 abortions. Evidently because Benjamin, (who performs abortions at Einstein Medical Center in Logan and Planned Parenthood's Center City clinic) had a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing environment, and kills the baby when it is still in the womb, the murder is considered more acceptable.

The end result is the same: a formerly-alive baby is dead.

From the UK Telegraph, regarding the Gosnell trial:

'Beyond breaking the 24-week limit, the implication of a guilty verdict is that those were not just “parts of a woman’s body” but human lives that Kermit casually snipped away with a pair of scissors. That they only became human lives the moment they left the mother’s body is an absurd proposition: the issue here is clearly age and development of the fetus. Inside or outside their mother, a guilty verdict suggests that they had reached the point of becoming human beings with rights.

' To quote columnist Kirsten Powers:
Regardless of such quibbles, about whether Gosnell was killing the infants one second after they left the womb instead of partially inside or completely inside the womb — as in a routine late-term abortion — is merely a matter of geography. That one is murder and the other is a legal procedure is morally irreconcilable.'

What have we come to, that we are killing our own children because we find them inconvenient.

And don't you wonder why the mainstream television news has been virtually silent on the ongoing trial of Kermit Gosnell.  Even before the horrible events in Boston and Texas dominated the news, I had never heard of this until I read about it online. It certainly seems that a story like this should be covered by all of the major TV networks.

There has been a justified outpouring of rage and grief over the massacre of the children at Sandy Hook Elementary.  What about the others, 'the most vulnerable among us,' who are murdered while we deliberately look the other way and say nothing...

As someone has recently said,  'If there’s even one life that can be saved, then we’ve got an obligation to try.'

To view what state policies are regarding late-term abortion, study this chart from Guttmacher Institute, State Policies on Later Abortions.   Dr. Josef Mengele would have been proud.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart

Jesus said, Let the little children come to me,
 and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.
Matthew 19:14

If anyone causes one of these little ones-
those who believe in me- to stumble,
it would be better for them to have a large
millstone hung around their neck
and be drowned in the depths of the sea.
Matthew 18:6

You do have to look hard for news about this and you have done a good job presenting it. Thank you.

You've expressed my thoughts perfectly. To your quote about saving one life we could also add the Edmund Burke statement that evil flourishes when good men do nothing. I think good men have been desperately trying to undo the evil of abortion, but so far, to no avail. How that "doctor" could hold an innocent in his hands and end its life with the slice of a knife is beyond comprehension. Your post won't put an end to this horror, but at least you are not "doing nothing." Thank you for that!

You are SO right! And I get angry when the (14 year old girl) delivers in the school restroom and the baby dies, and she is tried for murder - when all she had to have done was go to one of those baby-killers and she would have walked away. What is the difference? A human life has been lost, one way or the other. Respect for life has gone out the window - no wonder there is more and more violence, when human life is so easily disposed of.

A very informative post, thank you.
I will admit I couldn't read the state policies after your mentioned Dr. Mengele...It was enough to revive such infamous name.
God bless,

We live in an upside down world where morals, virtues, and human life are no longer valued. God help us all.

As the daughter of two strong pro-life activists, it sickens me that news like this is not being publicized enough. I had not heard about this until I saw something about it on Pinterest, of all places. And reading those last verses you put there brought tears to my eyes. I can't believe people could be so cruel.

Hello Judy....The thought of abortion is abhorrent to me. Little innocent human LIVES with tiny beating hearts are snuffed out before they are able to take their first breaths.

God will have plenty to say to those who perform the killings, I'm sure.

Thank you for your visit and comment on my blog. Susan
